COUNTRY PRESENTATION

The country is the only one in South America with access to the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Located on the north western site of the continent with a land area of 1,141,748 km², it shares land borders with Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador. It is an equatorial country with a constant luminosity all year round (with an equal number of daytime and nighttime hours). The climate is determined by the rainy seasons, the winds, humidity, and the altitude.

Colombia treasures a great biodiversity (the second most diverse country in the world) a rich history and traditions that are an invitation to experience adventures. The Andean mountain chain splits in the south of the country building diverse landscapes from green valleys to snow covered peaks. In the north warm beaches of the Caribbean Sea, tropical forest and arid deserts. The exuberance of nature in the Pacific Coast and in the Amazon jungle.

With 13 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, more than 1900 birds species (the first place in bird species worldwide), festivities throughout the year, beautiful sites and hospitable people is Colombia a destination that has a long list of routes to be discovered.

Located near the Equator, Colombia does not have distinct seasons and the climate changes vary from rainy to dry seasons during the year. The rainy season goes from April and October.
