WHEN TO VISIT

There are no high and low seasons in Ecuador because we are in the middle of the World and we have only two seasons.

One of the busiest months is December and specially in Galapagos it is wise to book ahead of time.

The average temperature in the Highlands rises to a dry 22 C / 72 F at midday to a cool 8 C / 46 F in the early morning and evening.

Generally, the driest months in the Northern and Central Andes are from June to September. In the southern highlands, the driest months are from August to January. Rain tends to appear along the Pacific Coast between June to September. In spite of rainfall, the coast can be enjoyed year-round.

In the Amazon basin, heavy rain may fall at any time, but the wet season is considered between April to September.

The Galápagos and the coast are both considered the hot areas of Ecuador (averages of 31º C / 88º F) from January to April. From May to September it’s called the “misty season” in Galapagos; however, both seasons are perfect for visitors.

HOW TO GET THERE

Most of the flights from Europe to Ecuador are with KLM via Amsterdam and Iberia via Madrid. Avianca and American Airlines also offer flights via Miami and Bogota.
