COUNTRY PRESENTATION

Situated just below the Indian subcontinent and to the South West of the Bay of Bengal, the island of Sri Lanka remains a hidden gem often overlooked by travellers around the world. The Pearl of the Indian Ocean, teeming with palm-studded golden beaches, sacred Buddhist sites & beautiful citadels steeped in spirituality and  scenic landscapes will never cease to amaze you. With its golden sandy beaches, azure blue waters and warm tropical climate, Sri Lanka is a year-round destination for holidaymakers seeking sun, sand and sea.

The island has a rich cultural heritage that dates back to over 2,000 years which is linked to the origins of Buddhism in the country with magnificently constructed stupas and the ruin remains of ancient kingdoms.

Orange Lanka was conceived out of a desire to deliver its intimate, in-depth knowledge of the island offering tailor-made holidays  to the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Our varied range of holidays focus on luxury, sports, nature and adventure, and explore relatively undiscovered parts of the island staying in private , boutique villas & our hand-picked resorts . Sri Lanka’s tangible charm and vibrancy with a natural mix of graciously gentle people, herbed and spice infused cuisine &  intriguing ruins will continue to  amaze  you long after you leave the island .  From the buzzing Colombo to sprawling tea plantations across the country, from golfing under the clear blue skies to savouring the succulent curries, immerse yourself  in the sights and sounds of hypnotically colourful religious pageantry making it as an integral stop. Controlled from the 16th century onwards by the Portuguese, Dutch and finally the British prior to gaining full independence in 1948, the influences of colonial powers remain visible in architecture and a number of forts across the country.

WHY VISIT

“This is India; the land of dreams and romance, of fabulous wealth and fabulous poverty, of splendour and rags, of tigers and elephants, the cobra and the jungle, the country of a thousand nations and a hundred tongues, of a thousand religions and two million gods, cradle of the human race, birthplace of human speech, mother of history, grandmother of legend, great-grandmother of tradition — the one land that all men desire to see, and having seen once, by even a glimpse, would not give that glimpse for the shows of all the rest of the globe combined.” Mark Twain

India is diverse, glamorous and beguiling, splendid and romantic, energetic and colourful, the entire country is awash with colourful travel experiences for the daring, the cautious and the curious traveller. India lays claim to the soaring snow-capped Himalaya mountains, the sleepy rhythmic kerala backwaters, the cultural Golden Triangle and everything in between, not to mention the splendid Mughal architecture of the infamous Taj Mahal, Humayun’s Tomb and Agra Fort, and some of the world’s most outstanding luxury and exotic hotels.

Based on the above element we offer a distinguished & curated travel plan for each guest. Whether it is a tailor-made itinerary, a special interest group, business travel, accommodation, airline booking or planning experiences we take change of it end to end to infuse your trip with a unique sense of adventure and unforgettable individuality. We believe we are a part of travel that changes lives. Our green policies of reduced carbon footprint & no use of single plastic, besides our giving back to the community initiative is an honest endeavour to make a small difference. Our practices have already incorporated the usual - no plastic, waste free, reducing carbon footprints etc into our programs but are now more focused toward the societal and economic aspect of supporting the communities and certain less fortunate and privileged segments and wildlife organisations.
